“Boss, how do you calculate the prices here?“ I asked with a swagger.

”One silver coin for a child, two silver coins for these women and teenagers, and three silver coins for an adult. However, adults are out of stock today and are not expected to be available until ten days from now,“ the fat boss replied quickly.

”Can I get a discount?“ I asked with a swagger.

”That depends on how many you want to buy,” the fat boss said with a twinkle in his eye.

“Ten children, ten teenagers, and two middle-aged women.” I thought to myself, ‘I can’t buy too much at a time to avoid drawing attention to myself.’

The boss quickly calculated in his mind and looked up and said, ‘Then I’ll charge you 30 silver coins, and the two middle-aged women are a free gift.’ After all, it’s not easy to sell the middle-aged women.

I nodded with satisfaction, ”Call the people out, and I’ll pick the ones I like and start walking.”

The fat man waved his hand to indicate that he should bring the people up.

A group of people came to my front under the protection of long spears. I took a breath, fully deployed my spiritual power, and gathered my primary energy in my eyes to start selecting my future armed forces. In no time, I selected twenty children and teenagers with relatively good aptitude and talent. After selecting, I relaxed my spirit and dispersed my power, preparing to start selecting two people who could cook.

“Which one of you can cook? Raise your hand if you can?”

Huh? No one raised their hand. “Don’t tell me none of you can cook?” I said disappointed.

“She can cook,” said a woman, pointing at a little girl.

“If you can cook, why didn’t you raise your hand?” I muttered to myself, walking over to the little girl (she was older than me, about eleven years old).

“She’s a little deaf,” the woman explained.

“I can’t cook,” the little girl said firmly.

I was taken aback. Didn’t she say she could cook? The woman next to her looked a little anxious and smiled apologetically at me, “Young master, don’t listen to her shouting. She hit her head yesterday and is a bit confused. She’ll be fine in a couple of days.”

I suddenly understood. I guess this group of people have formed an emotional attachment. This group of middle-aged women wanted to let me take this girl away, so they didn’t raise their hands, but the girl didn’t want to let others sacrifice themselves for her, so she didn’t raise her hand either. Damn, she’s quite stubborn. “Boss, I’ll buy an extra child. I’ll take this one too,” I pointed at the little girl. The little girl was immediately taken into the group of people I had picked out.

“Who else can cook? Raise your hand again.”

At this point, five or six middle-aged women raised their hands, and I picked two of them. I walked up to the slaves I had chosen and began my lecture: “Hello, from now on, you will have to follow me around. You will obey my orders. You will be told to go east, and you will not be allowed to go west. You will be told to buy food, and you will not be allowed to buy toys. As long as you follow me around, you will be able to eat well and drink spicy food in the future…”
