It took a few steps, then suddenly jumped up. I was so startled that I quickly crouched down and held the ice above my head. And the piece of ice in my mouth was swallowed without anyone noticing. The unicorn didn’t do anything to me, just stared at me and watched my every move. Although I really wanted to touch it, I knew that I would probably be burned to death. After all, it was covered in fire. I backed away, feeling my way carefully. It seemed to be thinking about something, more like waiting for an opportunity. Sure enough, it pounced. I had nothing in my hand but a piece of ice, and I certainly didn’t have a pickaxe, which would be useful only if I was up close to it!
But the expected pain didn’t come. The unicorn looked at me fiercely, limped into a cave and disappeared. I didn’t know what had happened, but when I looked more closely, I realised that the piece of ice in my hand had melted, but two golden unicorn scales had been left on the ground! Oh, God, such a good opportunity for me to meet! I took a breath, took out the sampling box from my bag and put the two scales in. Then I quickly ran in the direction of the wind. I soon found the way, but the torch had no batteries, so I had to grope my way forward. Then I actually discovered my dream: a huge amethyst mine!
When I clambered awkwardly into the cave, I had no premonition of anything. I just felt the sound and smell of water, and that’s why I came here. I took out an emergency light stick from my backpack, folded it in half and threw it out. A strange sight appeared. This was a real amethyst cave, with pure purple crystals all over the walls! I was stunned, and I couldn’t help crying out after staring at it for a long time. I realised that this was how it felt to have a dream come true!
It was only after a while that I thought to collect a sample. When I knocked some down and planned to put it in my bag, I noticed that the ice in my bag had not melted. In fact, it didn’t look like it was going to melt at all. I thought about it and decided to carry it out like this. In order to reduce the weight and increase my strength, I ate a lot of food, leaving only a day’s worth. Then I slept a big sleep in my treasure, but when I woke up, I felt a special coldness in my heart. I thought of one thing: if I tell anyone, then this mountain, this cave, and the fire qilin will all be lost! Human greed is even more terrible than I imagined! I decided to let my dream be just a dream, and never tell this secret to anyone! So I packed my backpack, leaving behind the amethysts and taking only two small samples. I left with my backpack on.
