When Junxu opened her eyes again, it was already broad daylight. She tilted her head and saw Feng Qin lying next to her. He was still wearing the same clothes as the other day, a little dirty, his hair tied up in a messy bun. His sleeves were pressed into creases, and his honey-coloured arms were covered in hideous whip marks, some of which were already inflamed.
The orderly footsteps and shouts of the playground. Junxu’s gaze was fixed on Feng Qin. He was lucky to be alive. How did he report back to the crown prince about the deaths of those two lackeys?
He had to take care of his own brother, who had sacrificed himself for Feng Qin, and also protect Feng Qin, who had recklessly provoked the crown princess. How did he do it?
Gently placing his hand on Feng Qin’s forehead, Junxu coughed softly twice
‘Fengqin? Fengqin?”
His subordinate was still unconscious. His eyelashes, like those of a black phoenix, were drawn together, concealing the dark circles under his eyes. Junxu frowned, and his fingertips lightly stroked his face. If all they had was happiness together, without sacrifice or giving, then perhaps parting would be easier. Knowing each other’s hardships, they often couldn’t bear to hurt each other.
Junxu was angry, resentful, and frustrated, but he could only punch himself to relieve his anger.
In the bright sunshine, Baiyu, dressed in white, walked over
‘My lord, it’s been two days. Doctor Xiao and General Jing have been busy as hell, and you’ve finally woken up.‘
Jun Xu nodded
’He’s a bit hot. Help him take a bath and apply medicine.‘
’Hmph, even a good person can get sick from overwork, not to mention that he has internal and external injuries, and he’s still refusing medicine.‘
’Hmm.‘
Baiyu blinked her big eyes, swallowed the words she was about to say, and walked over to pick Feng Qin up
’I want a reward.”
Jun Xu was helpless
‘You’ll get your share, don’t worry.”
The boy giggled, walked away with Feng Qin in his arms, and Junxu lay on the bed, looking at the ceiling. She tossed and turned for a while, perhaps it had some effect after all, but she and Feng Qin were back to square one. Looking at him sleeping peacefully with his eyes closed in the sunlight, her heart felt soft and weak, unable to lift it up or break away.
She had coldly watched countless lives fade away, but the injuries on his body somehow made her feel attached to him. These injuries were for her. Junxu sighed, closed her eyes, didn’t want to make a sound, didn’t want to see anyone, she was too tired.
