ice that has lasted for a thousand years

I looked down and realised that I was really standing on a large piece of ice, just like the ice surface when I was a child ice skating, and there seemed to be something under the ice. I shone the torch down, and my God, there was another hole below, but why was there only this layer of ice between the two holes? I tried to use the small pickaxe in my bag to tap on the ice surface, and the people outside heard the noise and asked me loudly what was wrong. I had just replied that there was nothing wrong when the ice surface suddenly cracked open, and I fell down like this, and the lifeline was instantly cut off by the ice.
I fell into a former waterway, and with my large backpack, I just kept falling along the ice channel. When I was thrown back to the ground with a thud, I suddenly realised why the ice was so thin. It was the ice that had condensed when the water outside rushed into the hole, but because there was air exchange with the outside, it would melt. I guess the hole simply would not have existed in winter.

I took a breath, got up, and shone my torch around. I had fallen into an ice cave! I took out a pair of deerskin gloves from my backpack, then put on a super warm and ultra-thin coat, and felt my way forward with the light of the torch. Suddenly I noticed a red glow in front of me, so I hurriedly took a few steps. It turned out that the outside of this ice cave was actually the centre of Qilin Mountain. There was indeed a volcano here, because the outside was a magma cave!

I knew that if I went out there now, I would definitely be killed, so I used my pickaxe to knock a few pieces of ice down, put them in my mouth, and drank some water first. Using the red light of the lava, I noticed that the colour of some of the ice was actually different from normal, and it looked more like ice formed from seawater. Could it be that this place was once the sea? I chipped away a few times to take a sample, but who knew that two large pieces would fall off. I put one of them in my bag. I picked a small piece off the remaining piece and put it in my mouth, then picked up the large piece of ice and walked out.

After walking along the rock face for a while, I noticed that instead of the scorching gas I was expecting, it was actually quite comfortable. It was only then that I realised that the ice in my mouth had not melted, but seemed to be freezing my tongue. Just as I was considering whether to spit it out, a red flash of light appeared, and I was so nervous that I almost bit my tongue. Suddenly I saw the legendary fire unicorn, standing right in front of me. It seemed very angry, but for some reason it didn’t charge at me and bite me to death.
